SVENGOOLIE CHICAGO'S LONGEST RUNNING HORROR TV HOST GOES THEATRE!
ZOMBIES BUILT CHICAGO is the closing in on one year latest edition of THE BRIDES OF GHOST HUNTER RICHARD CROWE, the play that runs at The Liar's Club on Friday and Saturday nights beginning Friday September 4 and Saturday Sept 5th running through Saturday Nov 14th. Unique because BRIDES has many editions, unique because it's a glam ghost show in a punk rock bar, unique because it re-creates the supernatural stories of Chicago from the women's point of view and now unique because it has music from Svengoolie! Svengoolie is the 7 time local Emmy award winner aka Rich Koz. He was the writer and comedy crime partner of Jerry G. Bishop, the original Svengoolie and on June 16 in 1979 Koz became the Son Of Svengoolie. He plays many characters while showing fabulous b movies such as Zallman T. Tombstone, a wise cracking skull and he introduced Svensurround. He would appear in the corner of the picture frame and make fun of the movies being shown, long before Mystery Science Theater by the way. The creators of that show were from Illinois by the way. Hmmmmmm.
On January 7th in 1995 Son Of Sven became Svengoolie. In 2003 Rich began hosting STOOGE-A-PALOOZA along with his horror host chores. This may actually be the first time someone has sang Svengoolies songs that could sing!
